RV370 P/N 13-A62801-106 BIOS Message

Hello world this is going to be my first blog.

The Problem :
I have a friend that had this error message appear "RV370 P/N 13-A62801-106 BIOS" when she was trying to turn on her Dell desktop computer. Unfortunatly it is not a software error; it is a hardware error. This error comes from the root of the computer, the bios. You are not able to edit bios settings or even boot into any form of operating system.

The Fix:
I have done quit a bit of research into it. It turns up that this error message is caused by a defective RAM stick(s). To solve this problem all you have to do is isolate the defective RAM stick(s).

  1. Remove all of the RAM sticks.
  2. Put 1 of the sticks back into the first RAM Bay (The slots you just took the RAM sticks out from)
  3. Turn on the computer. You shoud get a bios message that the amout of RAM has canged disregard it. If you are able to edit the bios settings or get windows to start to boot you are heading in the right direction. (If your computer did not turn on or still displays the "RV370 P/N 13-A62801-106 BIOS" message restart from step 2 with a different stick of RAM.
  4.  Repeat Step 2 & 3 till you find the stick of ram that will give you the "RV370 P/N 13-A62801-106 BIOS" message. Once you find the defective stick mark it with something so that you will know that it is a defective stick.
  5. Once you have found the defective stick replace it with a new stick of RAM. Make sure that you replace it with the correct speed and size.
Once the defective ram stick is replaced you should be back in business. Good Luck
